Key Protection Features
Advanced protection and monitoring functions designed for reliable battery and DC power system operation.
Designed for Bidirectional Power Flow
Many battery systems do not operate in only one direction. In real applications, current may flow from the battery to the load during discharge, and from the charger to the battery during charging.
That is why we designed this circuit with a bidirectional switching stage. It can control current flow in both directions, making it suitable for battery packs, solar systems, DC UPS systems, robotics, portable power systems, and custom power electronics applications.
This bidirectional design makes the circuit more useful than simple one-way protection circuits.
Programmable Overcurrent Protection
Overcurrent is one of the most dangerous faults in DC systems. It can occur due to short circuits, overloaded motors, faulty wiring, wrong connections, or damaged loads.
Our circuit includes programmable overcurrent protection, allowing the current trip level to be adjusted according to the required application. This makes the design flexible for different load ratings and battery systems.
Instead of using a fixed protection limit, the threshold can be selected based on the system requirement. This gives the user better control, improved safety, and more professional protection behavior.
Programmable Undervoltage Protection
Deep discharge can reduce battery life and damage battery cells. For lithium-ion, lead-acid, and LiFePO₄ battery systems, undervoltage protection is very important.
This circuit includes programmable undervoltage protection, which disconnects the load when the battery voltage goes below the selected safe limit.
This helps protect the battery from over-discharge and improves the long-term reliability of the system.
Programmable Overvoltage Protection
Overvoltage can happen due to charger faults, wrong adapter connections, unstable DC supplies, regenerative effects, or voltage spikes.
To protect the system, ITET has added programmable overvoltage protection. The maximum safe voltage limit can be adjusted according to the battery or load requirement.
When the voltage exceeds the programmed limit, the circuit can disconnect the system and protect the connected electronics.
Programmable Charge Detection
This circuit also includes programmable charge detection, which helps identify charging conditions and allows better system control.
Charge detection is useful in battery systems where the circuit needs to respond differently during charging and discharging. It improves control logic and makes the protection circuit more intelligent for real-world applications.
RC Delay for Stable Operation
Power electronics circuits often face ringing, spikes, and switching noise. These unwanted signals can cause false triggering and unstable operation.
To improve reliability, this circuit includes an RC delay network. The delay helps filter short noise pulses and prevents unnecessary shutdowns caused by ringing or fast transient signals.
This makes the circuit more stable, especially in high-current DC applications.
